Travelling from A to B can be pretty stressful, from getting to the airport to ensuring that everyone has their passport and boarding pass with them at all times.

Let alone the busy flights where passengers queue like cattle in the waiting area.

The busiest fliights in the world have been named according to new research based on OAG’s Global Airline Schedules Data.

The team analysed the total number of seats in 2019 compared to 2023 (this was when it was at normal, pre-pandemic levels) to determine the results.

Most of the list was made up of routes within Asia with one UK flight claiming the tenth spot.

The busiest flight path was between Hong Kong and Taipei, a jump from third place in 2023. This particular route saw a 48 percent increase in capacity to 6.8 million seats this year.

This is despite another 15 percent to go before this route is back up and running to its 2019 capacity.

Next was Cairo to Jeddah, a flight time of two hours and 15 minutes, which has increased by 62 percent since 2019.

Seoul Incheon to Tokyo Narita followed closely in third place and just 1.1 percent behind. The capacity on this route has increased by 30 percent compared to 2023 and is a staggering 68 percent higher than 2019.

Despite Kuala Lumpur to Singapore Changi being the busiest flight path in 2023, it ranked in fourth place in 2024 with 5.4 million seats.

Meanwhile, Bangkok to Hong Kong has moved up into the top 10, earning itself seventh place in 2024. It has a capacity increase of 29 percent compared to 2023 with 4.2 million seats.
