Q3 results highlights: ICICI, IDFC FIRST, Yes Bank, JK Cement, NTPC Green Energy, and Orient Bell report strong performances with strategic moves

ICICI Bank reported a robust financial performance for the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, with profit after tax growing 14.8 per cent year-on-year to ₹11,792 crore. The bank’s core operating profit increased by 13.1 per cent to ₹16,516 crore, driven by steady growth across key business segments. Net interest income rose 9.1 per cent to ₹20,371 crore, while fee income expanded by 16.3 per cent to ₹6,180 crore.

The bank’s loan portfolio showed significant growth, with domestic advances increasing 15.1 per cent year-on-year to ₹12,82,778 crore. Retail loans grew 10.5 per cent, while business banking saw a remarkable 31.9 per cent expansion. Total deposits increased by 14.1 per cent to ₹15,20,309 crore, maintaining the bank’s strong funding base.

Asset quality remained stable, with the gross non-performing assets (NPA) ratio marginally improving to 1.96 per cent from 1.97 per cent in the previous quarter. The bank maintained a robust provisioning coverage ratio of 78.2 per cent. ICICI Bank also continued to invest in digital infrastructure, introducing DigiEase, a digital platform for business banking customer onboarding, and upgrading its retail lending platform iLens.

The bank’s capital adequacy remains strong, with a total capital adequacy ratio of 16.60 per cent and a CET-1 ratio of 15.93 per cent, significantly above regulatory requirements. Subsidiaries also performed well, with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and ICICI Lombard General Insurance showing improved financial metrics.
